Exploring Marble Types

Look at each type of marble in the charts above.  You are going to choose three marbles to recreate in a drawing.  Make sure you use your compass for your circle.  To add color, use colored pencils.  Be sure to pay attention to the small details and recreate them accordingly in your drawing.  When it comes to marbles, the details are very important in distinguishing which type of marble  it is.  Don't forget to label each of your drawings!

  2. Great information! When kids collected marbles each of these types had a different value in school yards.

  3. This is my kind of assignment... I like the visuals provided - gives them a wide range of options. I could also see you implementing the use of a compass, proper use, and measurement. Sounds fun!

  5. What a great art component (That I may steal)! Maybe we can collect some of those in the charts on our trip so your kids have an in-hands example! I will keep my eye out!

  6. Great post! It would be neat to have the kids take the marble pictures posted here and think about what the see in the different marbles, similar to when we would look at clouds and see animals!
    I think I saw Saturn!
